The Cell Phone Revolution

In today’s global economy, there is practically no such thing as working 9 to 5. The world is a 24 hour arena of a myriad of domestic and official tasks people are desperate to keep pace with! Corporate executives need to be plugged in or signed on for the most part of their work day and after, can tell the story better. Yet no one, even in households, has been able to escape the “being available 24*7” lifestyle of today.

Talking specifically of the business world, cellphones have become the most important gadget to own ever since their popularity took hold. With the plethora of features and software available on these devices today, they have swept the world with the newest revolution of smartphones, which indeed they are! The first smartphones came onto the market in the late 1990s, offering features such as e-mail communication, text-based web-browsing, QUERTY keyboards and built-in cameras. The first smartphone as we know it today, with an HD touchscreen, countless apps and high-speed internet, was introduced by none other than Apple in 2007 with the launch of the iPhone. Today, these multi-featured gadgets have nearly become a necessity, even for the least socially engaged users.

A majority of the smartphones today let users access entertainment through various media, be it audio or video. The variety of newer options also allows us to create and edit documents, invoice customers, check market performance, book travel and even play games during down time. It is these multimedia and document editing and sharing capabilities that position smartphones not only as a reliable communication device but also as a compact entertainment and business gadget. The amazing web browsingWi-Fi, and third-party sharing applications that are available have indeed brought the world immensely closer than ever before. Smartphones not only serve as our quickest medium of communication, they equip us with various sophisticated features such as a GPS system, digital camera, flashlight, voice recorder, home automation controller, news broadcasting system, and more, which makes our lives as efficient as possible. With all these smart features and much more, it is absolutely no wonder that cell phones have become our constant companions in whatever we do, and we bet their revolution will only get bigger!
