Verizon Revised Its Original Unlimited Plan

Quite recently, Verizon has revised its unlimited wireless plan and there is not much for the customers to be happy about. In other words, the whole revision in the plan has turned out to be a disappointment for the users. Let’s see how and why.

Revisions in Verizon Unlimited Plan

Verizon, the largest free government phone service provider, had introduced its unlimited plan after all the telecommunication giants got into a huge battle over customers.

All four of the major telecom companies – Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint had introduced unlimited plans recently with a vision of removing the limits on data usage by their customers.

Verizon’s unlimited plan, costing $80 a month, was part of this ongoing battle and people seemed to like it aside from having a few loopholes.

Thus, with the plan, the government assistance cell phone service provider managed to attract numerous new customers.

However, now Verizon has increased the price of the same plan and the good news is that the video speed is high-definition 720p now instead of 480p.

There is a cheaper alternative for the plan too that is available for $75. However, the videos running on this plan are of DVD quality.

The unlimited plan is also available for families with four members. The family version of the plan is available for $200 and the cheaper version is available for $160. Thus, the customers can get what they need based on their requirement and budget.

The customers who already use the unlimited plan by the free governmentphone service provider can stick to the old plan with a benefit of 720p of video speed on their phones, which was not the case earlier. Thus, the 4K-resolution is not available now. However, that wouldn’t be much of a change for most people.

The unlimited plan, Go Unlimited, by the government assistance cell phone service provider was earlier available in four variations, $75, $65, $50, and $40 per line. And now, the revised plan –
Beyond Unlimited – is available for $85, $80, $60, and $50 per line. The revisions have brought changes in video streaming, data speed and quality, and the plan comes with Verizon Up rewards.

Also, with the revisions, the plan allows free calls, texting, and data in Mexico and Canada.

“These plans give you the best unlimited choices, but you also get what only Verizon can give you: the best network, the best rewards program, the best way to manage your plan with the My Verizon app and the best selection of phones and devices,” said the free government phone service provider in a press release.

In a Nutshell

With the revisions in the unlimited plan, Verizon isn’t going to gain much because there isn’t much that the company is offering with its Beyond Unlimited plan. Thus, it is tough to say how customers are going to react to the alterations in the unlimited plan.

It can turn good or bad or can stay neutral for the telecom giant, so, we’ll have to wait and watch how things unfold.

T-Mobile’s REVVL: A Game Changer among Budget Phones

Recently, T-Mobile has come out with a bang! Not with a new plan or new service, but with its own branded mobile phone – REVVL. This is the first ever branded smartphone released by the third largest government cell phone service provider of the US.

There is a lot going on after the release of the amazing budget phone REVVL as the phone seems like a total win. Along with key specs, the revolutionary fingerprint lock, and budget prices, REVVL already seems like tough competition for high-priced flagship phones.

As the free cell phone service provider has mentioned, T-Mobile’s REVVL is about how to keep your phone under budget and not about how much more you can spend on a basic technological need.

REVVL: All you need to know

The basic features of REVVL include a 5.5” HD Display, 32 GB of storage, 2 GB RAM, and cameras including 13 MP primary and a 5 MP Selfie shooter. Other than these features, the latest feature that you can see in this phone is the fingerprint sensor at the back which is a rare sight in budget smartphones.

With these features and a 3,000 mAh battery, the government cell phone service provider is surely trying to stand out as the prices at which the phone is offered are quite affordable.
The phone runs on Android Nougat and is available through T-Mobile with an offer of $5 per month without any down payment, if the customer gets the JUMP! On Demand plan of the free cell phone provider.

The other option of getting the phone is with a straight payment of $125.

With the launch of the phone, T-Mobile has also made certain amendments in its JUMP! On Demand plan – a plan that allows customers to upgrade their devices. These amendments are made in order to allow subscribers to switch to budget phones too, instead of only going for the high-priced ones.
Now, with the JUMP! On Demand plan, the available devices will be called the ‘SmartPicks’. These smartphones include REVVL, LG Aristo, LG K20 Plus, ZTE ZMAX Pro, and Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime.

According to Mike Sievert, the COO of T-Mobile, “Not everyone walks into a T-Mobile store and wants the latest flagship. In a world where new phone prices go up year after year, many of our customers are looking for ways to keep up with the Joneses – in terms of features – without needing to keep up with the Kardashians – in terms of how much they spend.”

“Lucky for them, some of today’s most affordable phones have features once available only on the latest flagships. We’re seeing budget-friendly phones today that are practically identical to flagships from just a couple years ago. Gorgeous screens, great cameras on the front and back, and plenty of memory and power to run the most popular apps. That’s exactly what many of our customers – who tell us they want a boatload of features without spending a boatload – are looking for.” He added.
These words by the government cell phone service provider’s COO are directed towards the high-priced smartphones from Samsung and Apple. Especially the upcoming iPhone 8 which is supposed to be priced at $1000.

In a Nutshell

REVVL is just launched in the market and its reviews are yet to come in the market. With the new phone, we will have to see how T-Mobile will achieve new heights.

T-Mobile’s JUMP! On Demand: New Bait For Users

T-Mobile once again made it to the headlines with another program that lets users upgrade their phones every 30 days. The program is best-suited for users that like being upgraded to the cutting-edge technology.

Earlier this month, the offer was introduced for users to upgrade their devices three times a year. But now, with the 30-day option, the free government phone service provider has made things much more exciting for their users.

T-Mobile’s JUMP! On Demand

The JUMP! On Demand by T-Mobile is available for both the existing subscribers and for the non-subscribers who would like to switch to T-Mobile’s postpaid or free government phone service.
To get the program, the subscriber has to enter into an 18-month lease agreement that will allow the customer to get their device upgraded once every 30 days.

The monthly payment of the customers and the payments made throughout the lease agreement depend upon the approval of credit for the customer. Also, it depends upon the choice of the paid or free government cell phone plan you choose, government taxes and fees, and that of the device.
All the devices leased through the program JUMP! On Demand are owned by T-Mobile.

To get started with the program, non-subscribers of the free governmentphone service provider can call 1-800-866-2453 and if you’re an existing subscriber, you can simply dial 611 to get into the program.

The devices eligible for the plan include iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, etc. For inquiry about the eligibility of your device, you can ask T-Mobile customer support or visit any T-Mobile store.

If you’re on an active lease agreement with the free government phone service provider, you can either upgrade your device, purchase it, or can end the lease.

The option to upgrade the device allows you to get a new device every 30 days. To upgrade, you will have to choose a different device model, a different device, or a different memory size. Also, the device you have under your old postpaid or free government cell phone plan lease must be in a good condition.

In the program, the free government cell phone plan provider didn’t mention the whole list of eligible devices besides the ones listed above. Thus, the customers will have to confirm before they go for the agreement under the program.

In a Nutshell

With the JUMP! On Demand program, T-Mobile is going to attract a number of new and existing customers as it seems quite exciting for the customers. The program is aimed at offering a choice of devices to the customers, so they don’t have to stick to just one device throughout their lease agreement.

Thus, the program offers high-quality devices and we’re hoping that the customers get to choose the other devices as well. So, in all, the program is going to be a win for T-Mobile as far as we can see it!

The rest depends on how it actually goes!

Verizon Getting in Charter’s Way to Expansion and Build Out

Among all the leading telecom service providers, there prevails a monopoly of one government cell phone service provider or the other. To maintain this monopolist position, the telecom giants often go out of their way to be an impediment in the services of others.
The exact thing happened recently when Verizon was seen coming in Charter’s way. Let’s see what happened.
Verizon Being an Obstacle in Charter’s Expansion
Now, the problem arises with Charter’s move of expansion where the company needs to attach its equipment and wiring to roadside poles in order to provide customers with its services. The expansion is to be carried out in New York State.
The services to be offered by Charter include internet service and TV services offered by the company.
The issue arises because most of these roadside poles are either owned or co-owned by Verizon. Thus, to give Charter a chance to deploy its equipment on these poles, Verizon, the leading government cell phone service provider, has to take its own equipment down from a number of them.
For this, Charter Communications has evidently submitted 822 applications for pole attachments to Verizon. These applications included attachment requests for around 55, 856 poles. Along with the applications, Charter has also paid application fees of $409,296 to Verizon.
Now, besides this, Verizon – that is known for its government cell phone planhas been giving a hard time to Charter in the approval of the applications.
Out of the 822 applications, only 179 have been approved by Verizon to date. According to a complaint sent to the PSC by Charter, even after receiving the application fees, the government cell phone service provider isn’t taking the desired actions.
It has been seen that after the acquisition of Time Warner cable by Charter Communications, the company is bound to expand to new areas and Verizon is being a great obstacle in its way.
According to Charter, Verizon is doing so for competitive reasons as the company, while being celebrated for its government cell phone plans, also offers TV services through its FiOS cable TV.
This clearly shows that Charter’s TV and Internet services are bound to clash with that of Verizon’s in the capital region and this is evidently dodged by the leading government cell phone service provider – Verizon.
What Verizon Has To Say
While being accused of deliberately delaying its work on pole requests by Charter, Verizon denies the matter completely.
According to Verizon’s spokesperson Raymond McConville, "We have been more than cooperative and even presented Charter with options to speed up their construction efforts,"
"For them to try to shift blame is puzzling at best. We stand ready to continue to assist them and again provide them with the methods to speed things up”, he added.
In a Nutshell
If Verizon is deliberately getting in Charter’s way, the reasons are pretty loud and clear. However, because of these reasons, the internet users that have opted for Charter’s services might suffer because of Verizon’s level of cooperation.
