Sprint INC. Reveals the List of Initial “1 Million Project” Participants

A lot of students don’t have access to superfast internet services at home in the United States. Taking this into consideration, Sprint INC. announced a “1 Million Project” for such disadvantaged students throughout the United States. The company announced this project during the month of October 2016.

Sprint INC. Started Receiving Applications

Sprint INC. announced “1 Million Project” with the objective of delivering one million wireless devices with mobile services without any charges to students lacking internet availability. The company started receiving applications for its “1 Million Project” pilot program immediately after its announcement.

Sprint INC. Reveals the List of Initial Participants:

The company has released the list of first participants for the program from its office in Overland Park. This list contains the names of almost 4,000 needy students participating in this program from 11 different towns in the United States.

Students of California, Missouri, New Jersey and Massachusetts Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois are part of this “1 Million Project”. In addition, the company will also provide free cellular phone services in Rhode Island under the “1 Million Project” for students.

Main Features of “1 Million Project’

Let’s take a look at the main features of Sprint’s “1 Million Project” pilot program below:
•    Sprint INC. is funding the “1 Million Project”.
•    It will allow students to choose from mobile phone, tablet, computer or a hotspot device to be able to access internet services for free.
•    The pilot program of “1 Million Project” will start in January 2017.
•    Sprint will begin approaching new schools to be a part of this long-term initiative expected to reach its conclusion by the first quarter of 2022. Most importantly, this will cover students who need free cellular phone service in Rhode Island for internet access.
•    The main aim of Sprint INC. behind funding the “1 Million Project” is to ensure internet access for approximately 2,000,000 students through free wireless device services annually.
•    The company will start this program officially well in time and according to the 2017-2018 academic year.

Sprint INC. Think Tanks Have to Say Something in This Regard:

A huge number of schools are showing a lot of interest to participate in this initiative taken by the Sprint INC, says Mr. Doug Michelman, the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Sprint INC. The company is also expecting to make a considerable difference in the life of many students through this program.

Sprint INC. Invites Donations:

Sprint has also provided an opportunity for phone service users in Rhode Island  and the rest of the United States to donate and be a part of “1 Million Project”, at any Sprint store. Donors don’t necessarily need to bring cash to the Sprint stores for donation. Instead, phone service users in Rhode Island and rest of the United States can also bring their useless or old wireless devices or computers which then will be sold by the company to raise money to benefit Phone service users in Rhode Island and rest of the United States, through the Sprint Foundation and its “1 Million Project”.

Final Words:

This is a very good strategic move by the company to increase its customer base and Return on Investment on the business front. This move can also be called a philanthropic way of branding by Sprint INC., to be able to rub shoulders with Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile, the top three major carriers in United States. Moreover, students will also get access to the internet with free cell phone services in Rhode Island and rest of the United States. Time will tell whether or not this move by Sprint is a success or failure.

Meet T-Mobile’s ‘Called Digits’ Technology to Share a Single Phone Number Across Multiple Devices

Cell phone carriers in the United States are doing every possible thing within or even beyond their reach to seek new growth in the wireless sector. Companies like Sprint, Verizon Wireless and AT&T are introducing less expensive plans and many more services. T-Mobile has gone a step beyond anyone’s imagination in this regard.

T-Mobile Develops Called Digits:

The company has successfully developed and designed a new technology. T-Mobile has named this technology “Called Digits”. Gone are the days when an incoming phone call meant that only one cell phone will ring. Now all of your electronics will ring at an incoming phone call.  In simple words, if someone calls you then your computer, cellphone, landline phone, laptops, tablets and even your ears will ring. But that’s just if you want them to ring.

Calls for Cell phone Service Users on Any Devices Regardless of the Operating System:

This technology is very powerful and allows customers to use a single phone number across multiple devices. Moreover, customers don’t have to worry about the type of operating system.

Called Digits is Useful in the Reverse:

This powerful technology also allows cell phone service users to carry multiple phone numbers to relieve them of the need to have separate professional and personal cell phones.

This is to Be Totally Different from Other Carriers:

Mike Sievert (Chief Operating Officer at T-Mobile) and Neville Ray (Chief Technical Officer at T-Mobile) talked about this amazing technology through a magenta heavy video of almost 15 minutes. This is a very new kind of technology for gaining competitive a advantage over carriers like Verizon Wireless and AT&T for growing their customer base. The company has successfully added over 2 million customers during the third quarter.

It will be a Replacement to Existing Similar Products:

T-Mobile’s technical team burnt the midnight oil for two years to come up with this unique technology, says Ray. This technology will also serve cell phone service users across the United States as the perfect replacement to similar products like Google Voice and Number Sync of AT&T. This technology is capable of working on any device regardless of the cell phone service provider. Even customers of AT&T and Verizon Wireless can use the Called Digits application.

It is in the Testing Phase:

The company is testing the technology with a small number of cellular phone service users. The company has not spoken much about its price. However, this technology will surely be available for the public in 2017.

Called Digits will be an Advantage for Sales Teams:

Sales teams within businesses are likely to be a potential group of customers of this technology. With Called Digits technology, an incoming call will ring a number of members of a team. Therefore, the phone number registered must be tied to a cellular phone service user instead of a device. According to T-Mobile, Called Digits is an identity management platform which is connected to the login of every cellular phone service user.

Final Words:

T-Mobile easily surpassed the cut-throat competition posed by Sprint. Moreover, the lengthy video of T-Mobile did not convey anything in this regard. T-Mobile shot to the headlines as a top 3 carrier as the Trump Administration may possibly favor deregulation and pave a way for a T-Mobile and Sprint merger. Moreover, it is too early to say anything about the success and failure of Called Digits as it is yet to be launched. Only time will tell next year.

FCC Reprimands AT&T and Verizon Wireless for Exempting Their Own Video Applications from Data Caps

AT&T and Verizon Wireless are already facing tough market competition from T-Mobile and other industrial competitors. The time seems to be getting tough for both the companies. Regulators in the United States are reprimanding both AT&T and Verizon Wireless.

What is the Story?

Verizon Wireless and AT&T have decided to exempt their own video applications from data caps of their cell phone service users. This is certainly not going to affect the way carriers conduct their operations. Howbeit, agency leaders appointed by Mr. Donald Trump, the President in waiting, are likely to monitor such practices strictly and very closely.

FCC Warned AT&T and Verizon Wireless:

The Federal Communications Commissions warned both of the carriers via letters in this regard on Saturday about the way they conduct and handle the increasingly popular practice known as “Zero Rating”. The FCC is concerned that it will seriously hurt industry competition and many cell phone service subscribers severely. AT&T had been dispatched a warning during the month of November of 2016. In a letter drafted to AT&T on Thursday, the FCC openly said that AT&T’s response did not provide any solution to the concern raised.

FCC’s Concern:

There are a number of other services like Hulu and Netflix that can pay Verizon Wireless and AT&T. This will make sure the customers are able to make use of those applications without any consumption of cell phone data. In accordance with the FCC, this is definitely going to make competition harder and more expensive for internet service providers. In simple words, internet service providers active in the market will surely find it very hard to compete with Video services owned by the carriers. This is likely to be harmful for the market of streaming services.

For Instance:

The FCC estimates that video service providers will be forced to pay the amount of $16 to AT&T on a monthly basis for a cellular phone service user streaming videos for about 10 minutes a day and that is without the consumption of any data. It could even go up to the amount of $47 a month for a user streaming videos for about a half-an-hour a day.

It will become very difficult for rivals to compete in terms of price with the new online TV application Launched by AT&T. This TV app of AT&T is known as DirectTV Now. Customers using this service have to pay the minimum amount of $35 to AT&T. Competing video service providers will have to zero their rates. If they don’t, they will surely face a lot of disadvantage.

Verizon Wireless allows its cellular phone service users to use its go90 video application without any consumption of their cell phone data.

AT&T’s Reply:

Exemption of applications such as DirectTV Now from data caps helps customers save their money. Therefore, the FCC should not try to put a stop to it.

Verizon Wireless Said…

Its practices are beneficial for cellular phone service users. Moreover, the practices are also fully in compliance with regulations.

Final Words:

This warning has come during the final days of Barrack Obama’s administration. Now Mr. Donald Trump, the president Elect, may roll back or enforce such measures with considerable leniency. The FCC still has not been able to determine whether the zero rating practices adopted/conducted by both of these carriers are a problem or not. Both Verizon Wireless and AT&T could appeal.

AT&T and Verizon Wireless Agree on the Deployment of Initial 5G Models; Standards Timing Becomes an Issue

It looks as if both AT&T and Verizon Wireless are getting on the same page about the initial 5G deployment models. Last week, representatives from both companies discussed this thoroughly during the 5G North America event. The Event kicked off with a keynote address and panel discussion specifically directed towards 5G’s current state.

Detail of the Event’s Key Highlights

Talking about 5G deployments, they were mainly expected to center on the fixed use of broadband. It was mainly noted during the early panel discussion conducted on topic. Its main purpose is to help carriers make use of technical specifications for powering technically superior equipment capable of supporting both higher speed of data and greater capacity for the government cellphone plans and the rest of the users.

Representatives from both companies welcomed this agreement. They openly spoke their mind in this regard.

Mr. Brian Daly Says…

According to Mr. Brian Daly, the director of core government and regulatory standards at AT&T, the company was waiting for such a fantastic opportunity to get some command on consistently increasing demand for video streaming services. Taking video support into consideration, it was perhaps one of the big use cases that all of us see. Moreover, the company was thinking about taking advantage of its diverse portfolio of fixed, mobile and satellite assets for meeting the demands of government cellphone plan users.

Mr. Alexander Khalin Says…

According to Mr. Alexander Khalin, the Director of Corporate Strategy at Verizon Wireless, the company agreed on initial development plans about all sorts of fixed wireless broadband services.

Twist in the Tale:

Recently, there has been a controversy between the companies about the move towards 5G standards and, the perceived difference of opinions in terms of timing for those standards is mainly responsible.

AT&T Asked for Some Extra Time:

According to some reports, AT&T has led a group at a recently conducted standards meeting for securing some form of 5G standards booked by the end of 2017. It is way ahead of the initial timeline finalized for the third-generation partnership projects of mid-2018. AT&T explained this move as the company requires some extra time for testing some standards to get ready for further testing and commercial deployments by mid-2018 for government cellphone service and other users.

Verizon Wants to Keep the Schedule as is:

The company seems to have its eyes set on promoting its own 5G agenda related to plans for network trials starting in 2017. This is why the company has come up with a counter proposal stating it would like to keep the schedule totally unchanged. Mr. Khalin did not comment on this week’s event.

AT&T’s Explanation

The company was waiting for an opportunity to get some form of standard committed between the time period of December 2017 and March 2018. It could possibly be for a non-standalone radio specification to help inform silicon vendors as they get ready for the development of chipsets early to support network trials. AT&T mentioned this effort under the guise of a carrier waiting for an opportunity to ensure “Learnings” from all of the existing and thought-out trials for 5G networks that could possibly be driven into a kind of standards process.

Summary of the Story:

If everything goes right, then the government cellphone service subscribers of both the companies would benefit. However, fortunes don’t seem to be supporting both the companies in this regard. It is turning out to be full of controversy between the two largest cell phone service providers in the US. It will be very interesting to see which way the decisions go.

AT&T Planning to Limit Video Quality by Default Even for Unlimited Cell Phone Plan Users

The wind does not seem to be blowing in the favor of AT&T cellular phone service users. Now the company has decided to limit the quality of videos on mobile for all of its customers. This is likely to happen in early 2017. The company is all set make good use of a new feature called the Stream Saver for controlling the quality of videos on mobile to DVD resolution of about 480p.

What is the Big Deal?

AT&T Cellular Phone service subscribers definitely have something to worry about in this news. Users can opt out of Stream Saver. However, it is surely going to be enabled for customers by default. Even customers with an unlimited data plan have not been spared.

Reason:

This decision by AT&T is nothing less than Donald Trump’s shocking win in the US Presidential election. AT&T has solid reasons of its own for making this decision. Let’s take a good look at all of them below:
•    AT&T Cellular Phone Service customers will be able to keep their data usage under 22 GB.
•    The company reserves the right of reducing unlimited data plans when any customers exceeds the data usage of 22 GB a month.

AT&T Says…

The company will surely notify users after their Saver has been activated. According to the announcement made by AT&T, all the users will also be guided about how to switch the Stream Saver off and back on. AT&T customers using an unlimited data plan may welcome this feature wholeheartedly as it helps them keep their data usage way less than 22 GB every month.

"It’s your choice. You can still stream video in higher resolution, when available, whenever you choose," Says AT&T. "You control Stream Saver and can turn it off or back on for any qualified line at any time at myAT&T or Premier for business customers. There is no charge to disable or enable Stream Saver."

Coming to the multi-line accounts, it will feasible to turn Stream Saver off for some lines only. It is likely to be available both for AT&T’s postpaid cell phone plan and AT&T GoPhone prepaid plans.

In addition, Stream Saver will play a huge role in the process of limiting the quality of most video. Some content owners can be held responsible for this decision taken by AT&T. They provide content in a way that Stream Saver fails to detect and then optimize the entire video for its cell phone plan users, said AT&T. Stream Saver is applicable only to cell phone plans. Therefore, video will stream in normal quality through Wi-Fi or residential internet connections.

Summary of the Story:

Stream Saver is very much similar to the system applied by T-Mobile for controlling the quality of video. Stream Saver is here to stay. This is why AT&T cell phone plan users will have the luxury of saving their preferences until you decide to change them. This is going to be a very impactful decision for its customers. And it will be very interesting to see the kind of response this decision gets from customers.

Sprint Cell Phone Service Subscribers Will Now Be Able to Pay for Napster through Their Sprint Bill

Finally, Sprint INC. comes forward with some kind of good news for its customers. And the good news is for Sprint’s cellular phone service customers using Napster.

What is so special about it?

The company is putting in some efforts to make it easier for its customers to be able to pay for their Napster subscriptions through their Sprint Bills.  In simple words, if you are a customer of both then you will certainly find it easier to pay for both through your Sprint bill.

Any Advantage Associated?

To be honest, there are not many advantages for cellular phone service users- apart from the fact that they will have the luxury of paying the bills of both Sprint and Napster via their single Sprint Bill. Automatic access to Napster or something like that could make this partnership of the two companies meaningful/advantageous to some extent for Sprint customers.

But Why?

As for reason, anyone signing up for Napster gets one month free access to Napster. Besides this, cell phone service customers of prepaid brands of Sprint like BoostMobile and Virgin Mobile are likely to get access to Napster without having to bother about using up their data.

Who Will Get Benefited by This Partnership?

Only Sprint INC. and Napster are going to be benefitted with this deal to some extent. But the lion’s share of benefits will fall in the lap of Napster. As far as benefits for Sprint INC. are concerned, the company is merely going to get some new cell phone service users and nothing else. Apart from this, this deal is not likely to bring anything special to the company.

This Deal Indicates Something Very Special:

This partnership of the two companies is a strategically thought out move that specially indicates the way different companies are attempting to gain new customers for rapid growth. Napster specially depends on such strategically thought out partnerships for growth.

However, there is something to notice for every customer. Customers will still be able to pay for their Spotify bills via their Sprint cell phone service bills.

What Else?

This is not the end of everything. Sprint is certainly not the first or new partnership of Napster in any way. The company also declared its partnerships with the likes of Even, known for conducting rigorous audio tests for the iOS app of Napster. In addition to that, Lufthansa Systems, an Airline technology provider, is also in line for offering high quality music for every customer aboard Lufthansa Airline’s Flights.

Moral of the Story:

Coming back to the point, this deal is not of much meaning for Sprint customers as they already get the benefit that both Sprint and Napster are talking about. The deal will simply earn Sprint INC. some new customer whereas Napster will have another strong partnership to rely on for further growth. Now it will surely be very interesting to see the impact of this deal or partnership between the two companies on cellular phone service users and the growth of both the company’s themselves.

T-Mobile Subscriber’s Growth Outpaces Verizon Wireless and AT&T

Somehow, T-Mobile has managed to post a profit. This profit has easily exceeded the estimate of analysts. It indicates that the third largest carrier in the US is successfully attracting new phone service subscribers in Kansas and rest of the United States with lower prices. And, the company is not punishing the bottom line in this process.

T-Mobile Released a Statement:

T-Mobile, in a statement released Monday, said that the adjusted earnings before interest, tax, and depreciation as well as amortization, increased to $2.6 billion. Bloomberg carried out a survey in this regard. As per this survey by Bloomberg, Analysts had predicted this amount to be up to $2.4 billion. The company succeeded in adding almost 969,000 new service subscribers. This average number of new customers predicted by analysts was 829,000.

What This Result Indicates:

This result is enough to show that Mr. John Legere, the Chief Executive Officer of T-Mobile, is finding more efficient ways for balancing user growth with the cost needed to keep new phone service users in Kansas and the rest of the US coming to the carrier. The shares of the company also rose by 7.5% to the amount of $50.25 Monday. This is T-Mobile’s highest amount of intraday gain in the two previous years. T-Mobile’s stock had been trading at $50.13 by 9:30 AM in the morning. It had gained 20% in 2016 by Friday’s close.

How did it Happen?

It was certainly not easy for the company. T-Mobile succeeded in winning many customers, especially because Verizon Wireless and AT&T struggled to live up to the expectations of their customers. Verizon Wireless came across the worse loss of subscriber growth in the time span of more than six years whereas AT&T had scheduled the announcement of results on Tuesday. Instead of this, the company announced results one and half hours after acquiring Time Warner INC. over the weekend. AT&T announced the eighth straight loss of phone service subscribers in Kansas and the entire US.

John Legere Tweeted!

Mr. John Legere, the CEO of T-Mobile took a dig at AT&T’s eighth straight losses through a tweet. “Yikes @ATT! Terrible Q3 results! Could explain the focus on buying another company. Any other diversion tactics!?” This is what he tweeted on Saturday night. A few days earlier, he had mocked Verizon also through a series of emoji tweets. According to him, his emoji tweets best represented the weak performance of the best carrier in the United States.

T-Mobile is Posting Profit Because…

There are a number of reasons for it. Let’s take a look at all of them below:
  • T-Mobile is pitching video streaming promotions strongly and free of cost. Binge On is the example.
  • Unlimited data plan for families and video lovers who love to watch videos on YouTube and Snap chat but are worried about data cost.
  • The demand of Apple’s iPhone 7 has been growing very strongly. Therefore, the company has introduced $160 unlimited data plans for families of four.
As for a price push, it has been considered to be a great threat for most of the big rivals. And the list of those rivals includes Verizon Wireless and AT&T.

Will T-Mobile be able to increase this profit in times to come? Rival carriers like Verizon Wireless and AT&T won’t sit quietly and sip coffee after posting such huge losses. The battle of wireless growth seems to be getting interesting. Let’s see who wins it!

T-Mobile Implements $0.01 per Minute Charge for Making Calls to Out-Of-Plan Numbers

Who This News is for?
If you are a T-Mobile cellular phone service subscriber, this news is definitely for you.  The company has revised its policy for conference calls. If you frequently have to make important conference calls then you must educate yourself with the new policy of T-Mobile in this regard.

A look at the New Policy:

T-Mobile has recently rolled out a new policy for all the cellular phone service customers who make calls to “out-of-plan phone numbers”. According to this new policy, all T-Mobile’s customers making calls to “out-of-plan phone numbers” will have to pay a $0.01 per minute charge. This charge will be applicable on services such as:
  • Conference calls
  • Chat lines
  • Radio Broadcast lines

T-Mobile Says:

The charge, according to the new policy, will affect calls only to a “Limited number of services”. Most importantly, most conference calls utilized by employers will not be subject to any such charge, confirms T-Mobile.

How You Can Avoid Paying This Charge:

If any cellular phone service subscriber ends-up using any service which is clearly subject to T-Mobile new $0.01 per minute charge, the customer will be warned after the number is dialed. In this way, customers will get an opportunity to hang up and avoid paying any such charges.

T-Mobile has a Reason Behind Implementing This Charge:

This is not a charge to any existing calling plans. Instead such calls have always been deemed out-of-plan, says T-Mobile. In addition, the company also says that these calls tend to cost more for T-Mobile for competition and this further helps the company in the process of managing those costs.

The Main Culprit:

Seriously, this is not going to be a charge that all or most of the T-Mobile cell phone service subscribers are going to face. However, some folks have faced these charges in recent days, including some of them on Reedit. Services like freeconferencecall.com can be considered as the main culprit for this charge implemented by T-Mobile.

What to Do in Such a Situation?

All T-Mobile cell phone service subscribers are advised either to comply with the advice issued by the company unless they don’t mind paying $0.01 per minute charge for using a better and different level of service.

At last:

The company has devised this new policy for its cell phone service subscribers for making calls to “out-of-plan phone numbers”.  However, this charge will be applicable for a limited number of services, as said by the company. Has anyone encountered any such $0.01 per minute “out-of-plan phone number” charge so far? If not, then such customers must get ready for it as soon as possible. Coming to the point, considering increasing market competition, it will be very interesting to see the way customers respond or react to this decision by T-Mobile.

Verizon Wireless Plans to Launch LG V20 Ahead of Other Carriers

Some of the major US carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T have already been expecting a significant number of pre-orders related to LG V20. On the other hand, another major US carrier named Sprint is yet to start taking pre-orders for the same phone until 21st October, 2016.

Although T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T might be releasing the LG V20 on 28th October 2016, Verizon Wireless seems to have some other plans. The company is all set to make the competition fierce. Verizon Wireless has announced the launch of the LG V20 on Thursday October 20, 2016 for its Nevada phone service users. The company has also decided to release the phones for users in its stores a day earlier to beat the competition. The company plans to do it ahead of other carriers in order to seek new growth in the wireless sector. The company announced the availability of LG V20 this week.

The Exact Date of Availability in Stores:

LG’s V20 is surely going to be ahead of the other carriers as it is likely to be available on Verizon Wireless this week. According to the report by Droid Life, Nevada phone service users will be able to get this phone in Verizon Wireless stores on 27th October, 2016. Otherwise, users can buy this phone on the Verizon Wireless’ website before the date specified.

The Price of LG V20:

Coming to the price, the company has not revealed it yet. However, according to some rumors doing rounds on internet in this regard, the device is likely to cost around $769 to $800. In addition to that, the company plans to offer a free pair of B&O Play earphones to Nevada phone service users who buy LG’s V20. Needless to say, every cellular phone service subscriber in Nevada must be expecting slightly higher prices as compared to the prices set by the other carriers.

The Purpose of launching LG V20 Ahead of Other Carriers:

The company has been struggling to gain new growth in the wireless sector for a long time. Therefore, launching LG V20 ahead of the other carriers in the United States could give Verizon Wireless an opportunity to seek new growth in the wireless sector. This is possible only when the company beats other carriers to the punch. And this might just be a perfect opportunity for the company.

This Is Exactly What Phone Service Subscribers in Nevada Will Get in the LG V20:

At this juncture, it is worth stating that there will surely be some promotions by the company about the handset. Users can expect a 5.7 inch display that is very much capable of supporting 1,440x2560 resolution. It has 4 GB of RAM, a powerful Snapdragon 820 processor and a 3200 mAh Battery. The phone has plenty of other features too.

Coming back to the point, the company may have decided to seek new growth in the wireless sector, yet it will not be easy for Verizon Wireless in the presence of other strong carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint etc.

Keep coming back to our website as we will keep posting all sorts of latest news in this regard.

The Company’s support staff advised all customers facing this problem to restart their phones in order to get connected to the network. Restarting the phone helped many cellular phone service users get connected to the network again. However, this solution did not work well for some subscribers. Some received five bars on their cell phones whereas some users hardly got one or two bars on their phones in the same area. However, they were happy to get connected again to the network. They applauded the way T-Mobile handled the problem and resolved it.

T-Mobile Issued a Statement in This Regard

Now the T-Mobile media department got into action and released a statement on the situation. Actually, the company’s media department confirmed to the associated press that “the issue is fully resolved”. As for the cause of the service interruption, T-Mobile’s media department kept quiet but thanked all customers for keeping their patience.

Although the problem has been resolved, the company should not relax as this has happened twice in less than 30 days. Instead, the company think tank needs to do a lot of serious work to determin appropriate actions to make sure that this does not happen again. Now it will be very interesting to see the way T-Mobile prepares itself to eliminate any possibility of such a problem in future.

Verizon Wireless Has Fine-Tuned Its Network to Keep Customers Communicating During Hurricane Matthew

A hurricane named Matthew continues to head towards the eastern cost of the United States. This is why Verizon Wireless, one of the premiere government cell phone service carriers in the United States has already taken necessary measures to ensure hassle-free cellular phone service for all its consumers in Florida, up the eastern seaboard and across the region. The company is relying on the most reliable and largest 4G LTE network to carry out the task.

The Company Has Fine-Tuned Its Network Significantly Since Last Year's Storm Season:

Following are the highlights of this network enhancement:

•    Additional Services related to the most advanced 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) network.
•    Significant addition of capacities at many cell sites.
•    Considerable fortification of coverage along evacuation routes.
•    Deployment of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) advanced technology and installing new in-building network systems at important places like hospitals, high-traffic public places, government and other emergency facilities and other key venues.
•    Super-switch network processing centers specifically designed to resist any catastrophe such as category 5 hurricanes.

What Else:

With hardened shells, power generation at a very large scale, various types of redundant operations and technologies as well as other backup systems deployed/installed, and hassle-free cellular phone services to the users are the main highlights of the efforts put in by Verizon Wireless.

Deployment of Engineers and Technicians:

All the practiced engineers and technicians of Verizon Wireless are burning the midnight oil in order to prepare all sorts of emergency services. They are also focusing on staging extra equipment and continuously conducting drills to ensure that their cellular phone service subscribers can rely on their services when they need it at crunch time, says Mr. Sergei Mislevy, executive director of Network operations at Verizon Wireless.

Some More Reliable Efforts by Verizon Wireless in This Direction:

In addition to that, the company is making some more reliable efforts in this direction for ensuring hassle-free networks for all its customers. The list of ongoing efforts by Verizon wireless includes the following:

•    A full emergency response plan that includes preparing emergency command centers in case of storm or any other kind of crisis.
•    Network technicians working at Verizon Wireless focus on utilizing high-tech mobile equipment dedicated to measuring the quality of the company’s wireless voice calls and data services across the state.
•    Verizon Wireless has a huge fleet of CoWS, CoLTS and GOaTS (Cells on Wheels, Cell on Light Trucks and Generators on Trailers). This fleet can easily be rolled into hard-hit locations or areas where extra capacity of the network is identified as being needed for keeping cell phone service users communicating.
•    Pre-arrangement of fuel delivery for mobile units as well generators for keeping the network up and running in full swing even if the electricity breaks down for an extended period of time.
•    Capable on-site generators for erecting new cell sites.
•    New and extended fuel tanks dedicated to extending power generation capacity of generators for ensuring hassle-free cell phone service for users.

Check for Qualifying Government Assistance Programs

All of these initiatives taken by Verizon Wireless are an essential part of the heavy network investment exceeding the amount of $111 billion since the company’s inception in the year 2000 for increasing the coverage and reliability as well as the capacity of its premiere network spread nationwide including the addition of new services.

Finally:

Now only time will tell the success rate of the quality of improvements that Verizon Wireless has made in this direction.

AT&T Fined $450,000 for Carrying Out Wireless Operations beyond License Parameters

The time does not seem to be good for AT&T.  The company has been fined for almost $450,000 by the FCC (The Federal Communications Commission). On last Friday, FCC carried out an investigation and found the cell phone service provider carrying out unauthorized operations of fixed wireless stations throughout the contiguous US and Puerto Rico in manners other than those mentioned on the stations’ licenses. AT&T had been doing so for more than four years.

What are the Wireless Stations Used for by the Cell Phone Service Providers?

Understanding the use of wireless stations by the phone companies will help you understand the whole issue in a better way. Actually, the phone companies utilize the wireless stations for connecting phone calls as well as the television signals straightaways between the towers in specific areas where connection is not feasible using standard wire line or fiber optic cable. Mainly, cost and terrain can be held responsible for this.

Coming Back to the Point:

According to the FCC, AT&T, the cell phone service provider has agreed to pay the fine of $450,000 in the process of resolving lengthy government investigation. In addition to it, the company has also agreed to not to repeat any such behavior, thing or the activity in future, confirms the statement released by the Federal Communication Commission’s announcing the agreement.

As for Reasons of Fine:

The Federal Communications Commission says that AT&T did not review the licenses timely. And the cellular phone service provider took these licenses as a part of its acquisition of CCC (The Central Communications Corporation). According to the FCC, almost 240 licenses were under question. Out of these 240 licenses, AT&T required almost 59 licenses needed filling for MMA (Major Modifications Applications) whereas 190 licenses needed minor modification applications, confirmed the Federal Communications Commission.

AT&T Says:

On the other hand, AT&T, the cellular service provider, also released a statement in this regard. It seems that the statement was directed towards saving company’s market reputation. According to this statement released by the AT&T, some minor discrepancies were discovered during the investigation carried out by the Federal Communications Commissions as the result of review of the licenses recently acquired. Company’s cellular phone service users and other carriers have not been affected by this, said AT&T. in addition to it, the agreement to pay the fine has resolved the fine first proposed by the Federal Communications Commission in the year 2015.

Finally, the company has agreed to implement a compliance plan for reviewing all of the wireless fixed microwave stations acquired in future transactions for ensuring license compliance. Moreover, the cell phone service carrier will also file periodic progress reports directed towards displaying AT*T’s compliance efforts as well as correct any kind of noncompliance found or noticed during the review process within the timeframe of 60 days of discovery. Now it will be very interesting to whether the company lives up to its promise to save its market reputation and takes all of the steps suggested by the FCC or not.

Enjoy HD Videos, Superfast Tethering and Internet with T-Mobile and Sprint's Expensive Unlimited Data Plan

These days wireless customers seem to be very fond of high quality video content. Considering their penchant for high quality videos, T-Mobile and Sprint Communications, two of the premiere government cell phone service carriers in the United States, are ready to thrive on this craze of their valuable customers.
They are Heeding Calls:
Both of the premiere government cell phone service carriers have introduced “Easy to Afford” unlimited data plans for cellular phone service users with some compromises.  Sprint Communications added more expensive data plans offering less compromises. Similarly, T-Mobile also followed the footsteps of Sprint Communications and came up with a bit more expensive of a data plan for all of its customers on Monday.
These new, expensive data plans offered by both of the companies to the users differ in terms of data and other things currently on offer. Let’s see what both of the companies are offering to their valuable customers in these expensive data plans.

T-Mobile One Plus Data Plan:
The company has launched the One Plus data plan during the month of August 2016. It was initially priced at $70 per month. As T-Mobile noticed that some of the cellular phone service users are ready to pay an extra amount of money for enjoying high quality video content, it now has increased this plan price up to $95.

What Is the Difference Between This Expensive Data Plan and more Affordable Data Plans of T-Mobile?

Expensive Data Plan
There is some difference between T-Mobile’s recently launched expensive data plan and the other cheap data plans for cellular service users.
·        Consumers willing to pay more money for the best video content experience can relish full HD videos on their mobile phones.
·       They will be able to use their phone to connect or tether other devices such as a laptop for enjoying superfast internet speed.

Cheap Data Plan:

Coming to the cheap data plan, let’s take a look what it offers:
  1.  It only provides DVD quality video.
  2. The tethering speed was very slow.
However, users are given unlimited data usage, texting and calling in both of the plans.

This is what Sprint Communication’s Plan is:

Talking about Sprint Communication’s expensive data plan, it was launched by the company at least a week before T-Mobile came up with its own expensive data plan. However, Sprint Communications, a premiere government cell phone service carrier, successfully undercut T-Mobile’s price of the expensive data plan. Sprint Communications raised the price of its expensive unlimited data plan from $60 to $80 as a starting price.

The Difference:

Both the cheap and expensive unlimited data plans of Sprint Communications offer unlimited calling, data usage and texting. The only difference is in terms of the quality of the video content limited by Sprint Communication’s cheap unlimited data plan.

The latest pricing battle is the result of constantly slowing growth of the US wireless market. Consumers are not taking any significant interest in switching their careers either. This has also played a crucial role in slowing down the growth of the wireless market in the entire United States at least for the last five to six years. But with the arrival of Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, most of the carriers, including T-Mobile and Sprint Communications, can expect an increase in the defection rate.
