Scratch Wireless Launches New Value-Driven Smartphone

World’s first truly free mobile service, Scratch Wireless, today announced its new Scratch-enabled Android smartphone named the Coolpad Arise. This smartphone sports a unique Scratch Wireless service that allows consumers access to unlimited free talk and text as well as data over Wi-Fi networks, without having to sign a contract or paying a penny for that service. The Coolpad Arise is ready for pre-order via ScratchWireless.com for only $99.

Contrary to the traditional pre-paid services whose costs rise without notice, Scratch Wireless utilizes a Wi-Fi First approach that takes advantage of the fast growing number of Wi-Fi network access points and hotspots to provide free text, talk and data when customers are connected via Wi-Fi. Texting is always free whether on Wi-Fi or cellular networks. Scratch is literally transforming the cellphone industry by taking the cost and complexity away from traditional mobile contracts and offering a completely free wireless service. They sell high performance phones at a reasonable price without the need to have a contract.

Coolpad is the third largest smartphone provider in China which is known for offering high-speed smartphones at affordable prices. The Coolpad Arise, reasonably priced for any consumer, packs a powerful punch with a 4" display, a rear camera and access to the entire Google Play Store. The device will also boast of improved Wi-Fi call quality, Multimedia Messaging and seamless call handoff.

As part of the plan for its expanded offerings, Scratch has also introduced new data and voice passes for the times Scratch users aren’t on Wi-Fi and feel the need to make phone calls or access data services over the nationwide Sprint 3G network. These new passes start at a minimal $1.99 for 24-hour unlimited voice and were brought out in simple straight response to customer feedback, presenting a more affordable and flexible option to Scratch users.
